Crayon Trophies
This reward system can be used throughout the entire school year. It needs to be explained at the beginning so that students fully understand how they can earn points and what the points will be used for. It’s important to keep up with the system by regularly awarding points. If it is not implemented consistently, students will quickly lose interest.
Guidelines:
- Always adhere to instructions.
- Raise your hand when needed.
- Respect others and classroom materials.
- Foster imagination and creativity.
- Maintain your assigned seat.
- Dedicate time to tidy up.
Classroom Values:
- Diligence – Striving consistently.
- Collaboration – Working collectively.
- Courtesy – Treating one another with kindness.
Purpose:
To cultivate a conducive learning environment where all individuals, students, and educators alike, can realize their fullest potential.
When to Implement:
This incentive framework is applicable throughout the academic year. It is essential to introduce it at the outset, ensuring students comprehend the point system and its rewards. Consistent application is paramount to sustaining student engagement.
Guidelines:
Point System: Team points serve as a school-wide incentive mechanism, fostering collaboration towards adhering to our core rules and values. Identify positive behaviors that enable table groups to accumulate points for rewards.
Classroom points are awarded as follows: five points for adherence to the five golden rules, with an additional point for embracing shared values. Each classroom has the opportunity to earn a total of six points per Art class session.
Visual Representation: Maintain a visible record of class points, allowing students to track the school-wide progress easily. Utilize an accessible format, such as an Excel spreadsheet, to promptly record earned points.
Recognition: At the week or month’s end, tally accumulated points. Subsequently, announce the victorious classrooms and present them with gold, silver, and bronze crayons, which they can proudly display in their room for the ensuing month. Occasional special announcements during morning assemblies can further motivate participants.
Creation Process: Crafting these crayons is straightforward. Utilize a 3D printer and cardboard mailing tubes to produce them. Detailed instructions for fabrication are available for download on Teacher Pay Teachers.
